CIVILIZACIONES

Medio (2200-1700 a.c).
fraccionarios
THE ANCIENT EGYPTIANS
Mathematics
arise from the beginnings of mankind with the development of the great
civilizations emerging along slowly mathematics as archaeologists have raised
through findings of bones where brands are reflected . Possible brands used by
our ancestors to keep accounts , many say that the days of the year, another
month and as the menstrual cycle of women so there are possible speculation
that the woman might have been a great part in the development of the maths.
Among one of the great civilizations meet ; It was the oldest civilization of
Egypt that emerged in the Nile Delta between 3150 and A.C. and 31 a.c. Under
Roman rule 31 a.c.
The
Egyptians had developed a system of beliefs and religious ceremonies and
obsessive recorders were his mathematical achievements were modest compared to
the Babylonians. This contributes to civilization mathematics with natural
numbers.
Currently there are symbols for numbers and
the symbols are repeated several times , then combining the results and be able
to represent any natural number, ancient Egyptian symbols grouped to form
numbers
The
best known Egyptian system for fractions was devised during the Middle Kingdom
( 2200-1700 A.C. ) . Begins with a notation for any fraction of the form 1 / n
, where n is a positive integer . The Egyptians did not write 2/5 as 1/5 + 1/5
; it is assumed that the rule was to use different fractions such as ½ , 2/3
and ¾ unit.
Egyptian
notation for fractions was cumbersome and very little suitable for the
calculation , although they served very well in the official records , was
completely ignored by subsequent cultures . This civilization was important for
mathematics because in this fractions arise and since that time has evolved so
far what we know as fractional
The Babylonians
Babylonian
astronomy could say that is tangential to our main story , which is that of
pure mathematics Babylonian . Used in astronomy fractional numbers , as well as
in trade and daily accounting. There are many tablets that record planetary
data , calculating the position of the planet , writing numbers in three
sexagesimal slightly better than five decimal places
